Winter Deer Proofing

We now have a new product in our arsenal. This has been tested HERE, at my house, with ENORMOUS success! To good to be true? Deer WILL NOT eat your evergreen shrubs from OCTOBER to APRIL!! I kid you not.

I sprayed DeerPro™ on a row of evergreen shrubs, with the exception of the one in the middle. Not one was touched, EXCEPT for the one in the middle! This stuff WORKS !

DeerPro™ works by creating a bad taste on anything the deer might eat. They will initially browse, but are repelled by the bad taste. No more ‘lollipop’ shrubs, where the bottom is eaten , and they leave the top. No more plants eaten down to the nub.

Call us for an estimate. Pricing is based on the number and size of your trees and shrubs. We only have to spray up to 4 feet high. They don’t eat any higher. Protect your landscape plants NOW, before the deer’s food supply gets scarce for the winter. By November, the damage will have been done.

Go here http://www.deerprorepellent.com/index.html to find out more about this product. This preventive spray can only be purchased and applied by a licensed pesticide applicator. (Like us.) Call us soon for more info.

September ‘09

Lacking a more imaginative title, it is September. The weather has been great so far. I look forward to a really lovely month, weather- and work-wise. While the weather today was not the best for Labor Day pleasantries, it gave me time to relax and sit at my desk to lay out all the work ahead of me.

Plant, plant, plant

Most folks don’t realize that this is one of the best months of the year to either design and install new landscapes, or renovate older ones. The weather is ideal, and most nurseries are still full of great plants at this time. Tired of that old landscape out front with the overgrown shrubs that hide the house? No light coming through the windows? Or, shrubs too big to be able to be cut back without being ugly? Then it’s time for a change! A new design could be a lot less complicated than you think. Call TODAY for a free consultation. You’d be amazed what a difference new plantings could do to the appearance of your home or business.

Just A Thought For Next Season

For those clients of ours who are currently using somebody else to apply your lawn treatments, all I can say is, “WHY?” Did you know that we also do that? Probably for less than you are currently paying, and more specialized than the large ‘whatever’s in the tank’ companies.

We are partnered with a local lawn care outfit that has been giving us outstanding service and results this season. Our most recent round not only fertilized and took care of broadleaf weeds, but also eliminated that horrible yellow nutsedge, you know, that fast growing yellow grass you’ve seen lately. And guess what? Your present company probably charges EXTRA for that. WE DON’T!!

Before you sign a contract for next year, check with us! We can probably save you money, and make your lawn look better than the other guys. Why go anywhere else??

Past Projects

This post is actually for the purpose of getting more search engine traffic. But it contains some photos of work that are not found elsewhere on this site. They may be of interest to you.

02-02-2008 05;27;00PMThis is a project we did a few years back. It entailed the removal of the wooden steps the builder of the house installed, and the construction of the wall and patio you see here. The really fun part was including the bed in the patio. The base of the patio included 32 tons of stone.

This is done in E P Henry TerraceWall, and Coventry stone in Harvest Blend

This is one of our commercial sites. We’ve been maintaining this property in NE Philadelphia for many years. It was time to renovate the existing landscaping, which was sparse.

We did all new foundation plantings, and really spruced up the look of an otherwise plain-looking industrial building.

ls1 This was an unusual situation. We were referred by another landscaper. Seemed that this homeowner had hired another landscaper, purchased all the nursery stock that they thought that they needed, AND had a deadline for installation because of an upcoming family party. Lo and behold, the landscaper they hired disappeared. No return phone calls, driveway full of plants

Eden Landscaping Co. to the rescue! We installed the plants on hand, and purchased and installed more to finish the job, all in time for the party!

wall

Just a simple but effective dry-laid fieldstone wall. Natural stone with some shrubs and flowers can be just as lovely as mass produced paver units.

This is a sitting wall we installed along side an existing concrete patio. We wired the pilasters for lights, and installed the caps and lights as well.

Adds a lot of extra seating during those large gatherings!

This project was for a client whose landscaping had reached it’s maturity. It had gotten to the point where we could no longer trim the hedges back far enough from the walkway without destroying the appearance. It was time to rip everything out, and start over. With all the old growth removed, we did a new landscape design and installation. As you can see, it has really opened up the front of the house, allowing the house to be fully seen from the street.

Don’t mind the paint job on the shed! That was being done AFTER we did our project. We had already done a major landscape renovation for a cute house in Hatboro that needed some TLC. The client was so pleased with what we had done, they called us back for an encore. They had a lot of stone that had been left in a pile by the former homeowner, comprised of some fairly large pieces. Big enough for us to create a nice new sitting area. it’s a nice shady spot most of the day, in the back corner of the backyard. A nice restful spot to enjoy looking at the rest of their newly redone landscape

Here’s another recent project where we renovated an existing landscape. The homeowner wrote us a nice review:

“Eden Landscaping did an excellent job both designing and installing the landscaping for the front of our home. We worked with them to design the plan, select the types of plants and were able to actually see the plants at the nursery that were going to be planted. The job was done professionally, completed on time and for a very reasonable price. Very high value for the money!”      Mr. P. Voltz, Richboro, Pa. GorlickHere’s one we just did late Sept. ‘09. The old landscaping had grown so large that it was out on the lawn. Everything was removed, and we did a new design and installation. We also regraded the front areas to return them to lawn. Here’s what our clients had to say:

“Eric Tarr completely designed and installed all the landscaping in the front of our house. He furnished us with information, pictures and even a CD to help us choose the different bushes & shrubs, which we then were able to see at a local nursery. His communication with us was wonderful during every step of the process, whether in person, or on the phone. We are extremely satisfied with his work and would definitely recommend him to others. We are enjoying the new “look” of our home!                 Mr & Mrs Gorlick, Richboro, Pa. ( You can see this testimonial on our alternate site at EdenLandscapingCo.net)
